Gary Begner hails from Oshawa Ontario or lovingly known as the “dirty ‘shwa”. To be serious, Oshawa was and probably still is the perfect blend of the rough downtown and the rich suburbs that geographically is about 2kms apart from each other. Saying that, suburb kids can go downtown Oshawa and see a show and not have to really bother about getting to Toronto to catch some culture. In the 80’s, Oshawa was a little different and a little more rough than it is now. but that’s only my opinion. That’s when Gary started putting on shows in rented venues as opposed to clubs. the only reason for this was for financial survival as an independent local band. Gary also had a band in the 90’s called LAME that received some positive attention in the mid 90’s. These days Gary lives in London Ontario running his own screen printing shop out of his house.
