Epi 57 Justin Marler of “Quick and the Dead”

“Quick and the Dead” is the brainchild of Justin Marler (ex doom rock band “SLEEP”).  Being a man of faith, Justin felt that he couldn’t stand by and watch thousands of Syrians slaughtered.  He used the only tool he knew was music to attempt change and awareness about a place that is actually hell on earth.  Using old gospel hymns as a backbone, Justin, Tony D’Amato and Jim Watson added punk rock into the mix and the result is “Hymns for the Apocalypse” A ten song album where all proceeds (yes ALL) go to relief organizations in Syria.

In the podcast we talk about how Justin came to be in Austin TX from California and his early days.  We also spoke about the crazy ways his parish delivers money to organizations in Syria.
