The band’s energetic front man Georgij Makazaria and his vibrant appearance inspires people to bounce frenetically, dance,pogo and scream their heads off. He is supported by the precise rhythm and driving force of drums, bass and guitar as well as the melody coming from violin, sax and the potete (a unique bass-trumpet). Together, the talented musicians follow their passion for live music and the classic melodies of Eastern Europe.
Russkaja play with Slavic clichés and melancholic minor notes which pick up speed and invite you to join the party. The beat of the so-called turbo polka with a Jamaican ska-offbeat makes the people’s feet and souls celebrate, dance and happily forget all their woes. Excursions into punk rock, metal and dub-step atrracts everyone that hears this band.
